Communications Failure
MITIGATION:  
Communications systems within the health system are designed, built, and maintained with redundancies considered to mitigate any failure.  

PREPAREDNESS:
The Information Systems Department maintains an extensive plan for communications failures.  

RESPONSE:
Information Systems maintains staff on CFVMC's main campus 24/7.  Additional technical expertise may be called in.  Due to the technological nature of these incidents, an IS representative will serve on the Incident Command command staff as the technical expert for the Incident Command.

Additional support may be required through the local utility company or other communication vendor.
